Quadrum Smart Phone Install

Separating the Upper and Lower Housings

  • Insert the key into the Upper Housing Lock (located on the right side of the phone housing) and turn counterclockwise.
  • Insert the T-Wrench into the Upper Housing opening (located on the right side of the phone housing) and turn it clockwise.
  • Slide the Upper Housing away from the Lower Housing and disconnect the ribbon cable from the Circuit Board Chassis.
  • Unlock the vault door and remove the coin box.

Removing the Coin Mechanisim

  • Unplug the Trigger Switch connector from the Circuit Board.
  • Remove the Coin Return Chute screw.
  • Loosen the mounting nut at the top of the Coin Mech.
  • Remove the Coin Mech and set it aside.

Removing the Chassis Assembly

  • Unplug all cable connectors from the Circuit board
  • Loosen the Captive Nut located at the bottom left of the Chassis.
  • Remove the Chassis and set it aside.

Backplate Mounting Instructions

  • Secure Backplate to the Wall with appropriate bolts/screws (not included)
  • Run the wire through the channel in the backplate.
  • Screw the two security bolts* into the outside back of the phone and hang the phone on the backplate.
  • Secure your phone to the backplate by inserting the bolts** into threaded backplate holes.
**1/4 by 20 Thread Count by 3/4 Length

Connecting Line to the Terminal Block

  • Connect incoming tip wire to the block where the green wire is connected.
  • Connect incoming ring wire to the block where the red wire is connected
  • Connect the ground wire to the center terminal of the terminal block.
Note: Use standard grounding procedures to ensure that the ground wire is at earth ground potential.

Reinstalling the Chassis Assembly

  • Install the Chassis into the Lower Housing by guiding the Securing Tab (located at the top rear of the Board) into the slot inside the Lower Housing.
  • Slide the Chassis upward until the Captive Nut at the bottome left aligns witht he Mounting Stud. Tighten captive nut. (Do Not Overtighten)
  • Connect the ground wire.

Reinstalling the Coin Mechanisim

  • Install the coin mech by guiding the tab located at the bottom of the coin mech into the housing slot located just behind the trigger swich. Be sure that the slot at th top of the coin mech is mated properly with the mounting nut on the lower housing. Do not tighten.
  • Secure the coin return chute to the coin mech with the screw.
  • Secure the coin mechanisim by tightening the mounting nut located at the top of the coin mech. Do not overtighten.

Assembling the Phone

  • Connect the Relay wires to the Chassis.
  • Connect the Ni-Cad battery connector to the Chassis.
  • Connect the Trigger Switch to the Chassis.
  • Plug the RJ11 end of the pigtail connector supplying "Dial Tone" into the Chassis.
  • With the Hookswithch on the on-hook position connect the Ribbon Cable from the Dial Assembly to the Chassis.
  • Inspect the hardware for any obvious problems. (piched wires, wires not connected, etc.)
  • Secure together and lock the Upper and Lower housings.
  • Re-install the Coin Box into the Lower Housing and lock the vault door.
